Through China Labor Watch's work investigating the conditions of over 200 multi-national companies' supplier factories, CLW has contributed detailed and realistic accounts of companies' supplier factories, while providing additional data to assess a company's CSR performance.
All companies must be held responsible for its activities, and workers involved in the production of a company's products must not be left out of this equation. Corporate social responsibility must include the public interest in a company's decision making process, and for companies with suppliers in China, this undoubtedly means that Chinese workers' rights and interests must be a concern of the company and all involved stakeholders.
As CLW uncovers ongoing labor abuses, we seek to engage in dialogues with the CSR departments of involved companies and brands and the factory management team to develop action plans to resolve current problems and implement positive changes.
